Asleep at the wheel

No, not the automobile, but the movie. We never got around to seeing it in the theater, so I bought it on DVD. The kids have been watching it constantly and love it.

Me? Well, I've only seen bits and pieces of it. You see, I keep falling asleep.

It's not because it's a boring movie. In fact, Paul loved it and reiterated the entire plot for me after I fell asleep on the couch during an after-dinner viewing.

It reminds me of a time my stay-at-home-dad friend, who we call Mr. Tony, his son Nick, Lucie, Nathan and I went to see Over the Hedge one afternoon at the mall. Sometime during the movie, Tony was asleep on one end, me on the other, and the kids between us completely awake and transfixed.

Sleeping at the movies? Maybe because it's the only time we exhausted parents can safely nap.
