Aug 1 2008Tired & thankfulCategory: Just MeI'm tired of cleaning up the yogurt off the carpet -- for the third time today. I'm tired of putting Lucie's red shoes away again 20 minutes after I put them away the first time. I'm tired of yelling every morning at Nathan just to get him fed, dressed, and out the door on time to school. I'm tired of dealing with the mess, noise, and sibling rivalry that comes with being a parent of two young children. Even so, I'm thankful that my kids truly love and enjoy each other's company -- the majority of the time. I'm thankful for their joy at seeing their dad walk in the door, and the way they shower him with hugs and attention. I'm thankful for Lucie's vivid imagination and Nathan's willingness to play monster or dance with her. I'm thankful that they're happy, healthy, smart and sweet kids. But no matter how tired and exasperated I am, I'm extremely thankful that I'm their mama.
