Cranberry-Peppermint Holiday Bark

Dark and white chocolate are melted together and sprinkled with peppermint to create a beautiful holiday presentation.

Servings: 1 cookie sheet of broken bark
Prep and cook time: 35 minutes (and some time to wait for chocolate to harden)

Ingredients:

1 pound semisweet chocolate
1 pound white chocolate
1 cup dried cranberries, chopped
2 packages candy canes or peppermint candies

Method:

In a small saucepan, melt the semisweet chocolate. Pour the melted chocolate over a waxed paper-covered cookie sheet (thickness should be about 1/4-inch). Let harden completely in the refrigerator, about 30 minutes.

While the chocolate hardens, crush the peppermints into tiny pieces. Melt the white chocolate and pour it over the hardened chocolate.

Press the cranberries and the crushed peppermint into the white chocolate and return to the fridge to harden.

To turn into a gift, break the bark into pieces and package either in a cookie tin or wrap in colored cellophane paper and bundle up with a fancy holiday bow. We broke ours and placed it amidst Christmas greens as you might use Easter grass in a basket for jellybeans or chocolate eggs.
